Right now the average cost to build a Habitat house is $65,000 plus the cost of the land.

As the Mid-Yellowstone Valley affiliate plans further construction, there are four areas of critical need:

1.  Pray for construction activities and people involved.

2.  Volunteers willing to work on committees, construction sites and in the office.

3.  Financial support and materials.

4.  Available land in the Mid-Yellowstone Valley, which encompasses an area from Columbus to Hardin.

Habitat for Humanity Mid-Yellowstone Valley is a locally run affiliate of Habitat for Humanity, a non-profit, ecumenical Christian housing organization.  We build simple, decent, affordable houses in partnership with families in need in Billings, Montana, and the surrounding areas, and with the help of dedicated volunteers.  Once constructed, houses are sold to the families at no profit to the organization and with no interest charged.

Proceeds from B.A.S.H.H. Month go toward our 2009 building season.  Habitat for Humanity is an ecumenical, Christian housing ministry  which forms partnerships with families in need and volunteers who share the vision of eliminating poverty housing worldwide.

Habitat for Humanity works in partnership with God and people everywhere, from all walks of life, to develop communities with people in need by building and renovating houses, so that there are decent houses in decent communities in which every person can experience God's love and can live and grow into all that God intended.

The Mid-Yellowstone Valley affiliate was established in September 1992, and completed its first house exactly one year later.  Our goal was to build 20 homes by the year 2000.  In December 2000, we met that goal.  Plans for continued building provide challenges, opportunities and blessings for individuals and groups who participate.

"Love the Lord your god with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. The second is this: Love your neighbor as yourself. There is no commandment greater than these." Mark 12:30-31

Let us band together to show our love for our neighbors by providing affordable housing for them and their families.
